The Scorpion Bracket

ScorpionArt.jpg  MinBracket.jpg     BracketAccBar.jpg       FullBrkt.jpg
The Scorpion Bracket was created to add support for accessories and to stabilize the new small non-shoulder mounted camcorders.

Since these camcorders were not designed to go over your shoulder, neither is our bracket. The Scorpion bracket was built around the camcorder, not your shoulder.

Shoulder mount brackets cause you to strain your neck sideways to look through the viewfinder. Adjusting a shoulder mount bracket so the camcorder is in front of you face, causes the camcorder to be off balance and tip sideways, pivoting at you shoulder. A shoulder bracket only supports some of the camcorder weight, just like the Scorpion Bracket. The Scorpion Bracket centers the weight and braces it against your body, minimizing sideways tipping. You're not attached to the Scorpion and you can set it down or lock it on your tripod when your tired of holding it. All your accessories are on the bracket so there is no need to unplug or attach any of them when you go from your tripod to hand held.

  • The Scorpion Bracket is built from 6061-T6 Aluminum stock, and anodized black for a tough finish.
  • Soft foam grips allow for different holding positions, and greater camera creativity.
  • The entire bracket can be stored in an area 2" X 8" X 11".
  • Assembles and disassembles in minutes with only four bolts.
  • Assemble just the support pieces you need.
  • Lots of real estate to attach your accessories with Velcro or belt clips.
  • Go from tripod to hand held and back in seconds with quick lock releases.
  • Shotgun mic is raised from camera noise, and creates visual clearance for wide angle lenses.
  • Tripod base holds camcorder upright for table top editing.
  • Use as a Low-hat, for low angle shots. Adjust camera angle with books or magazines.
  • Shoot left eye or right eye.
  • Camcorder can be set down in an upright ready to go position.
  • Patented technology, Patent# 6,601,999 b1.

There are five main pieces to this system.

The Body (30) remains on your camcorder, and you add the support you need. Four or five screws are used to connect the pieces by hand. Then you tighten things snug with a slight turn of the supplied allen wrench.
